Why Sales Control matters

Why I focus on Sales Control

Most business owners do not need more theory.

They need to understand where sales are leaking, why deals are stalling, what should be measured and which part of the sales process should be fixed first.

Sales should not feel random. A business owner should be able to see where opportunities come from, why buyers progress, why deals stall and what needs to happen next.

That is why my work is now built around Sales Control.

The founder

Real-world sales experience, not classroom theory

Luke's sales career started from the ground up before moving into business development, telesales, field sales, sales management and senior sales leadership.

At Elis, Luke helped scale annual new business revenue from around £500k to £8.2m in 18 months while helping grow the sales team from 4 sales consultants to 20. This is Luke's employment background and leadership experience, not a current client relationship or endorsement.

That hands-on experience of building pipelines, managing teams and delivering commercial results at scale shapes every part of the approach today.

The approach

Why diagnosis comes before implementation

Many businesses try to improve sales by adding more activity, more tools or more training.

Sometimes that helps. But often, the real issue is that the business has not identified the bottleneck creating the most uncertainty.

The issue may sit in prospecting. It may sit in qualification. It may sit in proposals. It may sit in follow-up, objections or next-step control.

Before trying to fix everything, it is better to identify the part of the sales process costing the business the most control.

The framework

The PACE framework

PACE is the framework Luke uses to diagnose where sales control is being lost.

Prospect

How the business creates the right opportunities.

Assess

How the business qualifies, discovers needs and understands buyer motivation.

Convert

How the business presents value, proposals and solutions.

Execute

How the business follows up, handles objections, controls next steps and closes.

PACE helps business owners see whether the first bottleneck sits in opportunity creation, qualification, value communication or deal progression.

The next step

How to work out what your business needs first

The best first step is the Sales Control Diagnostic.

It reviews your sales process across Prospect, Assess, Convert and Execute, then identifies the bottleneck costing you the most control, the first measurable KPI to improve and the recommended first 90-day focus.

From there, the most appropriate next step may be Membership, Programme Plus, Growth Partner or no offer at all.

Next step

Find where sales control is being lost.

If sales feel unpredictable, the next step is not to guess harder. The next step is to understand where control is being lost.

Apply for a Sales Control Diagnostic and identify the bottleneck that should be addressed first.
